VARIATIONS -add 1 pk Dry onion soup mix -makes great hamburger buns -OR 4 tb Brown sugar; and 2/3 c Wheat germ I have a lot more of the homemade mix recipes if anyone is interested.

Sour Cream Banana Bread

Cream the butter with the sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients; mix. Add the mashed bananas, nuts and sour cream. Bake in a greased loaf pan at 350 for 1 hour.

Mango Bread

Mix all ingredients well. Pour into greased pan. Bake at 325 degrees F. for one hour. Cool for 20 minutes.

Lemon French Toast

Prepare one loaf French bread as directed on package. Cool. Store overnight. Cut into 12 equal slices, about 1 inch thick. Beat together flour, sugar, salt and eggs. Fluffy Pancakes

Whip the egg and oil together until foamy, then add remaining ingredients. Batter will be thick. Stir just until mixed, some lumps are ok. Makes about a dozen medium size pancakes.

Molasses Gingerbread Men

Sift flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger and sugar into bowl. Add brown sugar, molasses, egg, and melted shortening. Stir to mix thoroughly. Chill dough for at least one hour. Roll on floured board to 1/4″ thickness. Cut with floured cutters and bake on a greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.

Poi Nut Bread

First: Mix poi and water together and let stand in bowl. Next: Mix together flour,sugar,cinnamon,baking powder,salt in another bowl. Combine the above mixtures with the remainder of the ingredients and place in gresed loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Optional: Add 1/2 cup raisins.
